Marco NeelsenChief Executive Officer

Marco NeelsenChief Executive Officer


Marco Neelsen joined PTP as Chief Executive Officer on 7th of November 2016. 

A certified and trained navigational officer, Marco holds a Bachelor Degree in Maritime Transport and a Master Mariner in Maritime from Germany.

Prior to joining PTP, Marco Neelsen served Buss Port Logistics GmbH & Co. KG as its Chief Executive Officer, leading a Portfolio of 12 Terminals (General Cargo, Offshore, Contract Logistics, Bulk and Shortsea Container) in Germany, Netherlands and Turkey. He also spent almost 10 years in Middle East in various Operations and Executive position within the A.P. Møller Terminals Group in places like Oman, Aqaba, Jordan and being the last one CEO of APMT Bahrain.

With a combined of 20 years’ experience in the Maritime Industry, predominantly in Ports within Europe and Asia and more than 9 years in Business Leadership roles, Marco Neelsen is set to bring the company forward.

Muhammad Abdullah Hatta joined PTP as Deputy Chief Executive Officer on 2nd February 2016 and assumed the post of Chief Financial Officer on 5th August 2016.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from University of Malaya.

Prior to joining PTP, Hatta was with Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd as a Senior Vice President – Finance. He started his career in Anuarul Azizan Chew & Co. before joining Ernst & Young Malaysia in 1994.  He subsequently joined Golden Pharos Berhad in 1997 as the Group Accountant before joining DRB-HICOM in 2000.  In 2007, he joined Westport Malaysia Sdn Bhd and assumed the post of Chief Financial Officer in 2010.  

Muhammad Abdullah Hatta is a Chartered Accountant with Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Laurids UglvigChief Operations Officer

Laurids UglvigChief Operations Officer


Laurids Uglvig joined PTP as Chief Operating Officer in 2014.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Physics from Esbjerg Statsskole, Denmark and a Master’s Degree in Shipping from the University of Fanø, Denmark. Laurids also recently became a SixSigma BlackBelt with The George Group/Accenture.   

Prior to joining PTP, Laurids was the Chief Operating Officer at APM Terminals Callao, Peru. Laurids also held various positions in APM Terminals in different locations such as in Algeciras, Spain, Denmark, Netherland and Angola. 

Laurids possesses over 30 years of professional career experience in port and maritime industry such as in port operation management, container transhipment, shipping logistics, change management and process excellence, international trade and supply chain management.

Jaizal Kamar Jalaludin joined PTP as Head of Human Capital Management on 2nd November 2015.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Leeds, UK.
 
Prior to joining PTP, Jaizal was the Head of Human Resources at Sapura Kencana Petroleum Berhad. He was also previously the Human Resources Director for Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad , Carrefour Malaysia & Singapore and Global HR Manager for Dunham Bush Holdings Berhad.

Jaizal has an extensive background in HR, having served in a wide range of industries including aviation, transportation, manufacturing, oil and gas and retail. His geographical work coverage spanned throughout the Asia Pacific region, UK and the USA.

Mohammed Hazaluddin HashimHead of HSSE

Mohammed Hazaluddin HashimHead of HSSE


Mohammed Hazaluddin joined PTP as Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) on 7th March 2016. 

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Science (Chemistry) from University of Malaya.

Prior to joining PTP, Mohammed Hazaluddin held the position of Senior Manager for Group SHE (safety, health and environment) in Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB). Mohammed Hazaluddin’s professional career includes companies such as Glaxo SmithKline Beecham, Colgate Palmolive, Cadbury and MRCB.

Mohammed Hazaluddin joins PTP with an extensive experience in health, safety and environment under diversified industry such as manufacturing, construction, property development and facility management services.

Arthur de JongeHead of Engineering

Arthur de Jonge joined PTP as Head of Engineering on 1st July 2016.

He holds an MBA in major strategic management from the University of California. He is also a certified Marine Engineer & Navigating Officer.

Prior to joining PTP, Arthur served APM Terminals Rotterdam as the General Manager of Technical Services. With a combined of more than 20 years’ experience in various companies, Arthur’s professional career includes companies such as Spliethoff Beheer B.V., Shell Tankers B.V, Hoek Loos (a Linde company), Feenstra B.V. and Delifrance.

Prakash Thurairasasingam has been with PTP since December 1999 and was subsequently appointed as the Head of Commercial on 1st April 2016. 
 
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from University Southern Queensland, Australia and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Prior to joining PTP, he was with Westports Malaysia as Information Technology Executive from March 1997 until December 1999. He was also with Johor Port, a multipurpose port, which is an associate company of PTP, developing new projects from bunker fuel to capitalize on growth of the group, and overseas expansion. 

His knowledge and experience accumulated over the years are invaluable to PTP as he takes the function to the next level in securing new revenue stream and developing new business in this volatile and challenging period.

Ghazali Jamil joined PTP as Head of Facilities on 15th August 2016 

He holds an Engineering Degree in Electronics & Electrical from University of Wales, United Kingdom and a Master’s Degree in Executive Business Administration (EMBA) from University Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Prior to joining PTP, Ghazali served Johor Port Berhad (JPB) as General Manager of M&R. With a combined of 24 years’ experience in various positions in engineering based companies including technical institutions & Authority, Ghazali had served diverse business entities such as Klang Port Management (KPM), British Malaysian Institute (BMI), Malaysia France Institute (MFI), Cofreth (M) Sdn Bhd, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE).

He was also with PTP from 2001-2006 as General Manager, M&R before he went to APMT, Egypt in Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT).

Gaurav Sharma joined Port of Tanjung  Pelepas (PTP) as Head of Information Technology Division starting from January 2017.

Prior joining PTP, he was with a global liner ERP technology company - Solverminds Solutions & Technologies, last based out of Selangor as Vice President of Business and Strategy. 

Gaurav completed his - Advanced Leadership and Management program from INSEAD Business School, Singapore / France. He holds a Ship Masters Nautical competency as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from India. He is a certified PMP® from Project Management Institute (PMI), USA.

Gaurav brings in dual industry experience having sailed the high seas with Ship Masters (Captain) competency on large container ships and oil tankers with American President Line, APL/NOL Singapore.

Markus Nikolaas NoletHead of Projects

Mark Nolet joined PTP as Head of Projects on 20th of March 2017. 

He holds a Master’s Degree in Science (Msc) majoring in Civil Engineering from Delft Technical University, Netherlands and is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Prior to joining PTP, Mark possesses over 10 years of international project management experience with APM Terminals, in different locations in The Netherlands, Jordan and Turkey. Mark’s last role was the Project manager for a Greenfield development project from its inception until full operational go-live. 

Mark’s previous experience includes APM Terminals head office role as senior manager project implementation, as well as project manager at APM Terminals Rotterdam.

Roeland van BeersDeputy Chief Financial Officer

Roeland Van Beers joined PTP as Deputy Chief Financial Officer on 15th November 2015.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam and a Post-Graduate Chartered Controller (RC) from Nyenrode Business University of Netherlands.

Prior to joining PTP, Roeland was the Director of Strategy and Investment at APM Terminals. He was also previously the Chief Financial Officer for Europe Portfolio and Chief Financial Officer for Inland Services at APM Terminals.

Roeland has a strong track record as capable financial executive in multiple countries and diverse cultures.
