New ERP system for PTP

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group has signed an agreement with Ramco Systems Limited (Ramco) for the “upgrading of PTP’s current Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) system”. PTP is understood to currently run the Oracle ERP system.

In a statement PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen said the new ERP system reflects PTP’s digital strategy, and its commitment to providing best in class service for its customers. “Given the pace at which technological advancements are changing the world, it is imperative for PTP to remain competitive and attractive. By investing in the latest technology, we are further establishing our terminal as one of the best equipped and most technologically advanced terminal port in the region”.

“We also wanted to choose a digital solutions partner with tools that can aid us in our growth as well gives us the right platform to integrate to advanced technologies,” continued Neelsen. “With the product and service that Ramco provides us, we believe it will benefit us well”.

Under the agreement, Ramco will implement its comprehensive ERP suite covering Procurement, Inventory, Finance, Maintenance, “HCM”, Treasury, Loan Management, Planning & Budgeting. “HCM” stands for Human Capital Management, and is one of Ramco’s main focuses. It offers functionality for some HR functions, such as monitoring absences and answering querries on leave and holidays, to be managed by bots.

The Ramco software will also be integrated with PTP’s core operational software, which is from Navis. PTP declined to comment, but it is understood it is in the process of planning its transition from Navis SPARCS to Navis N4 TOS. Integrating the TOS with Ramco software, a PTP spokesperson explained to WorldCargo News, “will help to generate seamless customer billings, which can be viewed online by the respective customers. This will further enhance the efficiency and productivity in the Finance cycles.”
