Port Operators Bring Raya Joy

GELANG PATAH : Hari Raya cheer has come early for some 150 less fortunate residents, each of them received shopping vouchers and goodies worth RM350 courtesy of Johor Port Authority (JPA) and Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) at a breaking fast event.
                JPA chairman Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli said it was important for local communities to also benefit from the port’s growth and continuous economic activities, which would directly and indirectly help improve their living standards.
                “We also want to give back to the community as part of our corporate social responsibility through activities for them,” he said after handing over Hari Raya goodies to the recipients at Masjid Abu Hurairah at the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs ,Immigration and Quarantine complex here.
                Meanwhile, PTP Chief Executive Officer Marco Neelsen said the programme served as a good platform to foster ties between the company and local communities in and around Gelang Patah.
                “This is the second year that PTP has collaborated with JPA in organising the programme and we are looking forward to having it again in future ,” he said.
                Tanjung Kupang Mukim head Mohd Sany Mohamed said the community was grateful for the support they received ,including new job and business opportunities.
