PTP clinches Malaysia’s 2014 Best Port Award

Kuala Lumpur: Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a subsidiary of MMC Corp Bhd, was named winner of Malaysia’s 2014 Best Port Award, in conjunction with the World Maritime Day 2015.
 
“We are proud that PTP has been awarded this prestigious award. We will continue to improve the service level and further pursue our vision to be preferred port of choice in the region,” said chairman of PTP/group managing director of MMC, Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, in a statement, here, on Monday.
 
The award, presented by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Teong Lai, was to recognise PTP for its continuous positive improvement in activity in container operation and better optimisation of resources in achieving its operational excellence.
 
“With various concerted efforts and a series of operational and technical initiatives by PTP, we are confident that our strong performance will continue to be strong,” said Che Khalib.
 
PTP has won numerous accolades and recognitions since 2000, such as being the first Malaysian port awarded with the Integrated Management  System which integrated ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 1800;The Asia-Pacific Green Terminal Operator of the Year by Frost and Sullivan in 2012; APMT Review Excellent Award; and, Technology Business Review Asean Award of Excellent in Logistics.
