ISKANDAR PUTERI, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- Two-hundred and seventy underprivileged students around Gelang Patah, here, today received school aid from Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP).

The Back to School programme saw primary and secondary school students receiving bags, stationery and food containers worth RM150 each.

The assistance was handed over by Johor Housing and Rural Development Committee chairman Dzulkefly Ahmad and PTP's chief executive officer Marco Neelsen at a ceremony held here.

Dzulkefly said PTP's concern in carrying out the corporate social responsibility in improving education level of students should be commended.

Meanwhile, Neelsen said the main purpose of the programme was to help families in need at the same time to alleviate the financial burden that comes with purchasing school supplies.

“By providing access to education to these children, we hope to open up more opportunities for them to grow and prosper, and they will be giving back to the family and society in the future,” he said.
