KUALA LUMPUR: Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) has been named as the best in administration for transshipment terminal.

KITA 2023 aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of MACC's advisory services in helping companies and organisations improve their governance and prevent corruption.

The event was organised for the first time to encourage companies and organisations to adopt the best governance practices recommended by MACC through its advisory services.

PTP chief executive officer Marco Neelsen said it firmly believes combating corruption is not just a legal obligation but a moral imperative.

He added that the port is committed to transparency in its sustainability efforts and maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of corruption and this includes bribery, fraud, extortion and any other unethical practices.

"In line with our ESG Framework launched in March 2023, PTP has established the PTP Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and Framework and Competition Law Compliance Policy as part of our initiatives to strengthen practices in governance.

"To date, 100 per cent of our employees have completed the ABAC training to effectively mitigate risks of breaches in policies," he said in a statement today.

PTP chairman Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh said the recognition underscores its commitment and effort to continuously uphold the highest standards of integrity in all business dealings and foster positive workplace culture that promotes transparency, accountability and ethical behaviour at all levels.

"Good corporate governance and integrity are crucial aspects of PTP's business agenda in driving sustainability performances as our governance framework is based on the highest principles of transparency and accountability," he added.

PTP is Malaysia's busiest transshipment hub with the capacity to handle 13 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) annually.

It is currently ranked 15th among the world top container ports.
