The award, which was presented by Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, recognises the port for its continuous positive improvement on productivity in container operations and better optimisation of resources in achieving operational excellence, according to the Malaysian Reserve.
PTP can accommodate 10.5 million TEU, and its new terminal plans are to feature in the upcoming Mega-Terminals Edition of PTI.

Part of TPT’s plans is to invest heavily in the future, ensuring the port significantly increases its throughput capacity in preparation for ever larger capacities along East-West trade lanes.
