Raya Cheer for the Underprivileged

The Iskandarian

As Raya is around the corner, Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port Authority (LPJ) brought cheer to 150 underprivileged individuals and students around Gelang Patah area for their seventh year of PTP-LPJ Tijarah Ramadan CSR agenda.

The collaborative effort saw beneficiaries receiving shopping vouchers and goods worth RM350 followed by a break-fasting session at Abu Hurairah Mosque, Gelang Patah.

“Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor takes its responsibility towards the community surrounding its facility seriously and initiates various programmes involving the local community on an annual basis. This allows us and the port to strengthen relationship with the community as well as to provide a channel for which the community may share their concerns with LPJ and PTP,” said Dato’ Abdul Rahim Ramli, Chairman of LPJ at the event.

A single mother from Kampung Ladang, Zainab Abu, said that she was grateful to receive donations from this year’s Tijarah Ramadan programme as it would help her prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya.
