Receiving the visitors at the site was PTP executive director Mohd Sidik Shaik Osman gave them a briefing.

Sidik informed them on the development of PTP from its inception to its current state.

The visitors were then taken to the completed Berths 1 and 2 where they had a first hand look at the wharf's linear design and the lower portion of PTP's quay cranes currently being erected in Berth 1.

PTP's Port Administration Building was also a highlight with six floors currently up and work in the last floor beginning.

Duly impressed, the visitors, who came in from Singapore via the Second Link and the trunk road within one hour, also had a close look at the port's entrance leading to PTP's access road, which, when completed in Aug 1999, will reduce travelling time from Singapore to just minutes.

PTP, in a press release, said it hoped that at every step of the way in its development plan, visitors would be able to experience the joy of seeing each facility being completed.
