PTP Internship and Young Talent Programme will give you real professional experience with the guidance and coaching from experienced mentors and the chance to apply your knowledge to real business challenges.

Tailor made programmes in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education to set you up for success in your future career trajectory, through placement at Port Tanjung Pelepas. You will benefit from in-person and virtual training programmes that will help you develop essential skills and digital knowledge, giving you an edge in the port industry job market.
1.0 Port Operations Planning Apprentice Programme (POPA)
We recognize that building competent Port Operations Planners requires a personalized approach. The POPA Programme is a collaboration between PTP and Yayasan Peneraju aimed at developing you as an individual and includes:
- Knowledge and experience to plan the full cycle of containerization planning process and system
- Learn to perform planning analysis to meet maximum productivity and efficiency
- Building and enhancing critical leadership skills
Duration: 8 months programme comprises
- 2 months of classroom-based training
- 2 months attachment at PTP business units
- 4 months on the job learning
Requirements
- Malaysian citizen not more than 26 years old
- Bachelor’s Degree holder with minimum CGPA of 3.0
- High learning agility and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

2.0 Young Engineer Apprentice Programme (YEAP)
This programme is a collaboration between PTP and Yayasan Peneraju towards providing on the job experience in the port industry. It’s a structured programme that focuses on technical training and nurturing quality leadership talents needed for the industry and includes:
- Exposure and familiarization with port equipment i.e., Quay Crane, Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG) and Mobile Equipment’s
- Gain the knowledge and experience for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting activities in workshop or on-site
- Learn to perform equipment productivity and reliability analysis
- Inculcate the safety culture by integrating safety knowledge with on-the-job application
- Building and enhancing critical leadership skills to adapt to the job environment
Duration: 12 months programme comprises
- 1.5 months classroom-based training
- 2.5 months attachment-based training
- 8 months on the job learning
Requirements
- Studying locally or abroad from all fields of study
- Undergraduate or Masters students in the age group of 19 to 25
- Strong willingness and ability to learn
- Sense of urgency
- Excellent communication skills
- Competitive drive to get things done
- Fluency in English
