The Star

The first batch of 37 graduates of the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) – Sedaya College Diploma in Logistics Operations received their scroll in a convocation ceremony last week.

The recipients were mostly managers and executives of operations, finance and logistics sections of PTP.

PTP Chief Executive Officer Mohd Sidik Shaik Osman said the port achieved a very fast start in its volume build-up causing an urgent need for increased capacity and experienced staff.

He said the logistics operations programme was designed to serve this need and to train young Malaysian graduates to take up positions in PTP.

“After a few years of working with us, their value both to the company and country will be immense. This programme is also in line with our commitment to serve the nation by building competent executives.”

PTP and Sedaya College initiated the Diploma in Logistics Operations programme one year ago to enable PTP staff to upgrade their qualifications, knowledge and values in a highly competitive working environment, especially in the port and logistics industry.

The five main modules of the course consists of the Environment of Logistics, Inbound and Outbound of Logistics Systems, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and Logistics Systems Management.
