Kalmar Smartrail retrofitted at Tanjung Pelepas

All 67 RTGs in operation at the Malaysian port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) have been retrofitted with Kalmar’s Smartrail auto-steering system over the past 15 months.
PTP and Kalmar celebrated completion of the project in April at a function where the guest of honour was Malaysian Minister of Transport Dato’ Sri Chan Kong Choy.
Smartrail does not require civil works, buried wires or transponders and Kalmar was therefore able to retrofit PTP’s cranes without interference to day-to-day operations.
