PELEPAS Brigantine Container Services Sdn Bhd (PBCS), a specialist in container maintenance and repair (M&R) services is strengthening its presence in Johor.
PBCS started its operations on Feb 21 2001 and has now created a niche in terms of a high-standard of repair quality and offering an effective cost structure to customers.
Currently operating from within PTP, PBCS plans to expand its operations to Pasir Gudang, Port Klang and also other areas within the country. Containers encounter different kinds of damage due to wear and tear and handling during transportation and the process of stuffing and unstuffing.
PBCS offers virtually every aspect of container M&R such as inspection, estimation, repair, scrapping, cleaning and welding, as well as parts trading and other related services.
All repair works are carried out according to the Institute of International Container Lessers (IICL) standards and customers requirements. PBCS branch manager Gary Wong said, “We offer container manufacturers, operators and users a high-standard of services in Malaysia and also the region.
“We would like to set a new benchmark for container maintenance and repair, as well as assisting Malaysia in its vision to become the premier transportation and maritime nation.” Aside from the M&R services, PBCS is focusing its sales and marketing in the container parts trading business. Targeted areas include the Johor and Port Klang markets.
Initial success has seen the company securing a significant number of M&R companies in Pasir Gudang as their clients, as well as getting orders from customers operating in Port Klang and Kuantan.
Two major overseas suppliers have also appointed PBCS as the sole distributor for container parts in Malaysia.
“We are also in the final stage of discussions to be appointed as South East Asia's sole distributor for one of the world's biggest container manufacturer from China.” said Wong.
