With PTP securing Maersk Sealand, which is to shift its transhipment hub from Singapore to PTP by year-end, focus from both parties was then on exporters and importers both from Singapore and Malaysia.

This event was held primarily to give these shippers an opportunity to familisarise themselves with the new port.

Also among the 800 top shippers are large importers from the US and Europe.

Organised by Maersk Sealand, the event was held in the port's Distribution Warehouse area.

The event was held amidst the berthing of the world's largest vessel, Clifford Maersk which has a length of 347m and 43m wide and a gross registered tonnage (GRT) of 91,560.
