PTP extends land reach into Southern Thailand

The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) has extended its land reach and hinterland to Southern Thailand, offering shippers and consignees the opportunity to utilise PTP's high efficiency, fast transit time and connectivity through sending of cargo via the rail network.


PTP in a press release said the first run of the dedicated PTP to Haadyai container train service began on Dec 1.
 
The train operated by Pengangkutan Timur Pantai Landbridge (M) Sdn Bhd (PLB), an independent wholly owned company left PTP with 40 TEUs at 2pm for Haadyai.
 
PLB is licensed to operate freight trains from Singapore-Johor to Thailand and works closely with their partners in Thailand including ICDs to ensure security, reliability and efficiency of service comply with CTPAT requirements.

The service is intended to progressively extend to inland depots in the Thai cities of Surat Thani, Bangkok and Mataput.
