PTP hosts cricket tournament for school kids

The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) organized its annual PTP cricket tournament (PTP 2015 Cricket League) for primary students in the Johor Bahru district.

The two-day tournament organized at SK Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar, Gelang Patah, attracted 130 players from schools around the Johor Bahru district.

The participating schools including SK Nusantara, SK Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar, SK Pendas Laut, SK Tiram Duku, SK Tanjung Adang, SK taman Skudai Baru dan SK Sungai Danga.

PTP deputy CEO Hanif Hamid said PTP will continue promoting a positive lifestyle among the school kids and education excellence.

Mohd Dannie Hazriq Mohd Zulkifli from SK Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar said the competition allowed the school team to be more prepared for the state competition.

"The effort put in organizing such a tournament by PTP should be lauded as its has allowed the participating student to showcase their talent and team work spirit," said SK Pendas Laut Cricket team manager Mohd Afham Noor.

Apart from the soccer league, PTP has planned a number of events for the local community this year. They include the English Communication Programme, educational trips to local universities, distribution of schooling aids, and bubur lambuk distribution during Ramadhan.
