PTP Holds Annual UPSR Camp For Gelang Patah Students

The Malaysian Reserve

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) recently organised a motivational camp for Primary 6 students who will be sitting for their upcoming Ujian Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination in September.

The two-day learning camp was aimed at equipping the students with learning techniques and to improve their performance in the examination, to instil confidence and to provide them with invaluable tips, as well as to motivate them to be mentally prepared for their big day. About 130 students along with 20 teachers from 13 primary schools in Gelang Patah participated in the programme that was held at Savannah Hill Resort, Ulu Tiram.

The camp is in collaboration between PTP and The National Council of Counseling Teachers of Johor Baru under the Johor Baru Education Department. The annual programme is organised as part of PTP's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to alleviate the level of education of the local students.

The candidates attended a session by Dr Mohd Shukri Abdullah, a famous motivation speaker who specialises in learning techniques. The participants were encouraged to be lifelong learners, creative and innovative, as well as to dare to be different and possess self-esteem.

The programme is also developed to support the Johor state government's effort in improving the overall academic performance of rural school children. PTP places great importance in the socio-economic development and well-being of the community within the port's vicinity.

Apart from the English Development Programme, PTP has various plans lined up for other education related CSR programmes this year, including the UPSR Motivational Camp, SPM Motivational Camp, Educational Trip to Local Universities, Distribution of Schooling Aid and many others.
