The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) achieved a throughput of 2.05 million TEU in 2001 surpassing its own target of 2 million TEU. The 2.05 million TEU represent an approximately five-fold increase over 2000's 418,000 TEU. A total of 2,286 containership calls were made at PTP in 2001. By year-end, PTP also achieved excellent productivity levels with an average of 29 moves per hour per crane.
